Apple has requested that jurors in the Samsung versus Apple case should not be exposed to Walter Isaacson’s Steve Jobs biography.
If jurors have already read the biography they may be aware of Steve Jobs’ attitude towards Android, which is at the centre of the Apple/Samsung lawsuit.
Jobs told Isaacson: "Our lawsuit is saying, 'Google you f***ing ripped off the iPhone, wholesale ripped us off. Grand theft. I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple's $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong. I'm going to destroy Android, because it's a stolen product. I'm willing to go thermonuclear war on this. They are scared to death, because they know they are guilty," notes Fortune.
Apple has filed lawsuits against Samsung around the world, claiming that Samsung products including smartphones and tablets violate numerous Apple patents. The Apple lawsuit also targets the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich "with its interactive features".
Apple and Samsung Electronics have agreed to attend a settlement conference in the ongoing patent lawsuit between the two companies, according to court documents.
Samsung has requested that the jury shouldn’t hear evidence from any "Apple related blogs, and articles by non-expert newspaper reporters, regarding any assessment of Apple and Samsung and/or their products." They also request that the "opinions and testimony of Henry Urbach" and Sanjay Sood should be left out of proceedings.
Apple has also asked for the Samsung logo on the court's video display to be obscured, and any reference to working conditions in China, according to Foss Patents.
