Electric NV200 wired for EV and Low CO2 Fleet Show

Nissan-e-NV200-van-blue_thumb Nissan will showcase a prototype of its fully electric NV200 van at the EV and Low CO2 Fleet Show next week.

The event aimed at increasing interest and awareness of greener fleet vehicles amongst fleet decision makers is set to open this Wednesday [18 April] at Silverstone Race Circuit in Northamptonshire featuring some of the greenest yet practical vehicles around.

The e-NV200 van – which broke cover at the North American International Auto Show in January – is still being trialled with various companies ahead of production however its appearance at the event is sure to underline the practical value electric vans can offer as well as their environmental and economical benefit.

Hideto Murakami, Corporate Vice President of Nissan, said the e-NV200 would be targeted mainly at businesses, offering much lower operating costs compared to current internal combustion engine vehicles, but would appeal to families and the private sector too.

“With its ‘no gas, no tailpipe, no emissions’ powertrain, the Nissan e-NV200 Concept combines a quiet, comfortable driving experience with a large, highly versatile, functional interior space within a compact overall body length,” he said when revealing the model earlier this year.

“A potential game changing vehicle in its segment, the battery capacity will support a driving range similar to the Nissan LEAF, while payload and cargo space will offer the same level as the current NV200.”

The EV and Low CO2 Fleet Show is expected to play host to a number of electric vehicles including Renault’s Twizy quadricycle and Kangoo Z.E., the Nissan LEAF, MINI E, as well as some impressively low emitting models like the Vauxhall Ampera and Citroen DS5 Hybrid.
